Restaurant Review: Hyatt Regency Mumbai Picnic Brunch

Finally, the weather is becoming a bit better in Mumbai. If picnic is on your mind, then Hyatt Regency Mumbai Picnic Brunch provides the perfect outdoor setting near its swimming pool, where you can enjoy a relaxed picnic, take a dip in the pool and chill out with amazing cocktails! It is a perfect place to have a pleasant get-together under the soft winter sun. Enjoy your breezy Sunday in a magnetic atmosphere, where good food and drinks are accompanied with a friendly vibe and a cool crowd. The Hyatt Regency Picnic Brunch happens every month outside Glasshouse. The next picnic brunch happens on December 15, 2019. So, book your tables in advance!
The Hyatt Regency Picnic Brunch buffet spread has sufficient variety for everyone. There are many live counters surrounding the pool. Whether it is chaat or wraps, they will make it fresh for you to savour. We particularly love the bar. The drinks are wonderful. Do try their heavenly cocktail called Galaxy. We also love their other cocktails, like the Guava Martini and French Riviera. The French Riviera is class apart! They also have classic mojitos, mocktails and beer.
The Noodle Bar has a delicious Kung Pao Chicken, which can be clubbed with noodles for a great Asian experience. Next to it is the dimsum counter, where freshly steamed Sui Maai of vegetables, lamb and chicken await you. The Pan-Fried Dimsums and the Teppanyaki Station are great, too!
AN settles himself with a filling bowl of Khowsuey, whereas I prefer tasting one of their Wraps and Rolls from their live counter. Although the wrap is quite average, I like the Khowsuey.
There are live stations buzzing with food-lovers. The Classical Hot Dog with a Twist seems to be a favourite with the young crowd. But the best dish in the whole buffet is perhaps the Berry Infused Roast Chicken that is served with a side of roasted vegetables. The chicken is juicy and so rich in berry flavours that you feel like licking the jus off the plate after gorging on the delectable roasted chicken.
For vegetarians, an equally good dish is the Vegetable Picnic Pie. Each Tortilla wedge has a generous filling of vegetables, Feta and eggs.
We walk around the pool sipping the healthy juice called Red Care (Spiced Beetroot, apple and pomegranate). The Aam Panna (with a hint of mint and Jaljeera) is good, too!
Grab some Hummus with Pita from the Mezze Bar. Or, go for Smokey Char Grilled Tuna with Corn salsa, some Cheese and Prosciutto Skewers (mozzarella, prosciutto, basil and reduced balsamic) or Chicken Bean Salad (mixed Bean Salad with poached chicken and asparagus). All these dishes are great picnic brunch options to try out at the Hyatt Regency Mumbai Picnic Brunch.
And of course, there are healthier options like fresh fruits and Quinoa Jars. They have a few interesting breads, including the gluten-free ones. Pizzas are readily served on request.
The Chaat Counter is a busy place for sure. Thereafter, the Indian Main-Course dishes are a must-try. We totally love this section. Dishes like Hyderabadi Gosht Biryani, Zaffrani Pulav, Lahori Murgh Masala, Makhana aur Bhavnagari Mirch ka Salan, Kadhai Paneer and Dal Makhni offer enough choices for the Indian tastebuds. My favourites are the Hyderabadi Gosht Biryani and the Lahori Murgh Masala.
And don’t even get me started on the desserts. They have various desserts lined up for the Hyatt Regency Mumbai Picnic Brunch. We love the Imarti and everything colourful in the dessert section. There were atleast a dozen of desserts.
We love the Fig Almond Tart, Baklava, Cappuccino Chocolate Cone Pastry and the Baked Boondi Gulab Jamun. The delicious Vanilla Bean Raspberry Pastry is especially for health freaks or with people having dietary restrictions, as it has no added sugar! We finish off on a sweet note with the Passion Fruit Chocolate Cream.
The next Picnic Brunch at Hyatt Regency Mumbai is on December 15, 2019. Don’t miss it!
