Restaurant Review: Sizzle Festival at Hard Rock Café, Worli, Mumbai
Hard Rock Café has always fascinated us with yummy American cuisine and interesting drinks! Paired with foot-tapping Rock music, dim lighting and different kinds of effervescent LIITs (Long Island Iced Teas), this sizzler festival will leave you mesmerised. This is one perfect place to chill with your buddies. The amount of food on each sizzling plate is good enough. What’s more, each dish looks neat, as the carbohydrates (rice, noddles or potatoes) are served in a separate plate. Seeing the great response to their Sizzler Festival, Hard Rock Café (Pan India) has decided to extend the promotion till March 31st this year.
There are lip-smacking sizzler variations here. Take your pick among the Hard Rock Cafe Thai Skillet, Italian Mafia Skillet, Mexican Chipotle Chicken and Prawn Skillet, Herb Crusted Chicken Skillet, Steak Satellite Skillet, Thai Style Grilled Cottage Cheese Skillet or the Grilled Paneer Tikka Skillet.
We tried two different kinds of Sizzlers there. The Steak Satellite Skillet was awesome. It had enough pepper-crusted grilled steak on a bed of exotic veggies topped with Maitre butter, and the meat was cooked according to our liking. We preferred the meats to be medium-cooked and it was done perfectly. The additional plump sausages (smoked chicken Frankfurters) were just yum. The sizzler was served with Cajun rice, Bourguignon sauce and cheesy mashed potato. All-in-all, it was heaven.
The next sizzler that we tasted was the Mexican Chipotle Chicken and Prawn Skillet. Mexican flavours were blended beautifully in this sizzler dish. Smoky Chipotle spiced grilled chicken and prawns were served on a bed of Fajita onion pepper. The sizzler was served with crispy masala fries, tangy salsa and Mexican rice, alongwith smoked chilli-cilantro sauce. The Mexican rice that accompanied this sizzler was flavourful! The chicken was tender and the shrimps were juicy, yet well-cooked. The whole package was generously laden with a chilli-cilantro sauce which was just yum.
There are enough vegetarian sizzler options as well. Doesn’t the vegetarian sizzler in the above picture look tempting? This sizzler had generous portions of grilled paneer and looked inviting with fresh veggies served alongside. The serving staff at Hard Rock Cafe chatted about the unique ambience of Hard Rock Cafe. They informed that with a total of 201 venues in 64 countries, Hard Rock International owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia, which is displayed at its locations around the globe. Among the vegetarian sizzlers, try the Asian BBQ Cottage Cheese Skillet, Italian Mafia Skillet, Lebanese Fajita Skillet or Paneer Tikka Skillet.
The drinks were equally good. We absolutely loved the specially handcrafted Long Island teas. The Jalapeño Iced Tea was mind-blowing. The magic of five spirits coming together in a glass of iced tea along with spicy Jalapeños, brine, sweet and sour mix and lemon-lime soda, was a blast of flavours in each sip. A must try at Hard Rock Café, this Jalapeño Iced Tea is one of my favourite iced teas in Mumbai.
The Big Bull Iced Tea was more than enough for two to three people. It comes in a huge glass, with six spirits mixed with Blue Curacao and Red Bull. It was quite refreshing! Other cocktails include the Double Trouble Iced Tea, Calypso Iced Tea, Love is in the Air and Texas Iced Tea.
Among the shots, one can try the Mad Rock (Whiskey, Peach, fresh lime juice and Red Bull), Backdrop (Bacardi Limon, fresh lime juice, lime wedges and sugar), Bloody Hot Chocolate (Vodka, Velvet Cream Liquer, chocolate sauce and Tabasco) or Azul (Bacardi, Blue Curacao, lychee juice and Old Monk Rum Float).
Overall, we loved the Sizzle Festival at Hard Rock Café. We think it is worth visiting there, as the sizzler portions are great and the flavour combinations are clever and unique. The drinks are just awesome and makes the whole experience even more worthwhile!
